(this is a very silly picture of me and Dad-in-law one morning during our June visit. like my jammies? They're chocolate scented. No really - they are.)

Hmmm...... just some notes about things to keep you all posted and so that I don't forget.

Ok - so I broke down and bought a Mac computer. And thank goodness. About 2 days after I bought it the (extended) warranty on my PC ran out and now the screen won't come up at all!! Big black screen!! Argh!! So - I am not good at Macs - but I'm learning.

9/16/09 - Played "where did it go??" with the toy water scoops in the bathtub with the boys.

9/18/09 - Flew to GA with the boys and Greg to (finally) bury my mother. There was very little incident except for some horrible rain and flooding. Just some nasty letters about me spread about to various family members. Not too bad. Dad-in-law did a great job with the committal ceremony. I was very pleased with the programs that I made. We had a fabulous lunch at Mary Mac's afterwards with everyone.

9/25/09 Today the boys had a big audition with the "Thermos" company for an industrial commercial. They did an awesome job - followed directions very well and both said "thank you" to the agency folks. So - even if they don't get the job they were absolutely charming and sweet - and that's all we could ask for. Drea came over for a bit today and Greg came downtown and met me for lunch. (he had an audition too - for a hand modeling job) When I got home, Max and I played "trucks and planes" for a while and then we all went out to eat at The Lucky Platter. When we got home, I got the boys ready for bed and we read Goodnight Moon and the Baby Einstein's shapes book . Oh - and Ash is up and RUNNING now.

Just the news........what's going on

Let's see....... so this week here is a little bit of what has been going on:

Ash is up to walking even more now! Maybe 5-6 steps at a time. He also says "no" to almost anything that you ask him. "Would you like a banana?" Nooooo. "Would you like to push the elevator buttons?" Noooooo. "Would you like to crawl around?" Nooooo. "Is that one of those no's that means yes?" Noooo. Its hysterically cute because he looks so very serious and he shakes his head from side to side while he's saying it. And "no" has about 3 syllables in it. He had a big audition for Kimberly-Clark today for an industrial commercial that they would be using internally. I got to take him to the audition which was fun - I don't get to do that very often b/c I'm at work. Greg came to get me for my "lunch hour" and I spent that at the audition. I think he did fine - I wasn't allowed in the photography room while they were doing the photos, but when he came back I realized he had banana or something on his cheeks that I had failed to notice earlier. (he had just eaten 1/2 a banana for a snack) Also he's adding words now - he said "doggie" on Tuesday. He went in for his 1 year appointment the other day and he is 31" tall and weighs 22 lbs. (90% for height and 50% for weight) He also got a ton of vaccinations. (I hate it when they do so many at once!) Chicken Pox, Measles/Mumps/Rubella, something that was a part-4 of a series and a flu shot. Poor fella. He's pretty brave though - didn't start getting really upset until shot #3. We had Dr. Weinstein this time - who is a hoot. He has 7 kids of his own and is so completely laid back with kids/babies screaming - its unreal.

Max who has become reluctant to eat much of anything besides bananas and yogurt, has recently decided that homemade guacamole is also acceptable. Greg tried a new recipe the other day and both of the boys have been gobbling it up! Max has started grabbing my hand when I get home and taking me over to whatever he was playing with before I arrived. Its kind of like a "toy tour" - many visitors get this tour these days, but it is still very fun. He is a very good guide and says, "Commeere Mommy. Come over 'eere". His current favorite toys are his yellow shovel/car from Gammie and Grandpa S. and his space shuttle from our visit to NASA. He and Greg play "chase" in the park when we go for walks by the lake now. Its mostly Max running around and then Greg catching him and tossing him in the air. He is doing mostly fabulous in his "big boy" bed now. He loves having the space to roll around, etc. He is getting much better about staying in bed at night - but he wakes up super super early! I think we're going to try to get some 'black out' curtains or something so that he does not literally rise with the sun every single morning.

Both boys have been enjoying their red wagon they got for Christmas and we recently had summer pictures taken of them with their Mickey Mouse overalls on that their Granny made for them. They got new shoes for the fall - Vans sneakers. Max's are bright blue and Ash's are black with white monsters on them.

The boys went to Eddie Hoshko's birthday party on 8/15. They had such a good time I think. There was a water/sand box, an inflatable jumping castle and a kiddie pool. Max had never been in an outdoor-type kiddie pool so when we put him in the kiddie pool, he played with the other kids - the water toys etc, but I don't think he moved from that spot the entire time (maybe an hour?). They had pizza and juice boxes for lunch and cupcakes in lieu of a cut cake. The Hoshkos aslo have quite the impressive playroom indoors and that is where *both* of our boys wanted to stay the entire party! Hopefully it won't be too long before we can get them their own playroom. I will try to post pictures from the party soon!
